Hello! Project group S/mileage have released their song and PV during their fanclub event on 6/27. Their new single titled, “OO Ganbaranakute mo ee nende” will be the group’s second major single. The song has been described as being comical and has a dance performance that is memorable. The second track on the single is called “OO Ganbaranakute mo iin dayo!!” and the third track is “smile bijin.”

The members are Ayaka Wada, Yuuka Maeda, Kanon Fukuda and Saki Ogawa. The girls are former Hello! Pro Egg. Hello! Pro Egg is a branch under Hello! Project in which they train girls who they hope to graduate into Hello! Project and debut. The name “S/mileage” is a combination of “smile”, “mileage”, and “age”, with the meaning “age of smiles”.

The group released four indies singles, the first being “Ama no Jaku.” In order for them to graduate and formally debut, their producer Tsunku, said they had to collect 10,000 picture smiles which would be made into a collage. If they didn’t they would not be able to major debut. The title of the project was called “Smile Campaign”.

On April 3, 2009 in a joint concert with Erina Mano, the girls’ debut and mosaic of 16,000 smiles was revealed.
