The end of Kimutaku’s myth?

It has been said for a very long time, that any drama starring Kimura Takuya, would be a big hit no matter what kind of plot, and Kimura Takuya has lived up to this reputation for a long time.

However, in episode 6 his new drama “Moon lovers,” (broadcasted on June 14th) received a rating of 13.4 %.  The worst in Kimura Takuya’s history, as he usually pulls in ratings of around 20-30%.

Is this the end of Kimutaku’s myth?

No. Where did you get your information? Most of his dramas in the recent past have pulled in ratings in the 20-30 range, no where near 40%…

13,4% is a pretty good rating IMO

  • mleshock

    Lol ya..not 40% O_o

It’s strange that rating are so low, the drama isn’t terrible. I’ve seen worse get better ratings.

  • sweet_naughty

that’s kinda low for a superstar like him,but im sure it has something to do with the episode.thing is he is undeniable a talented and well respected actor/singer there and has already proven himself some many times..i guess its just ‘one of those days’ thing~

  • jukilove

wow. i love the drama, it really, good. wounder wht happen. i wish i was in JP, thn thy would know i was there. still surprise abt the rating.

  • cuteandsweet

wow but this drama is amazing, the plot and the characters, maybe it was just a one day thing, dont know how people wouldnt love this

  • shotaro

uh oh i cant believe this is happening i’m watching this drama and its really good and interesting….

i dont know why it gets low rating???hmmmm

what? i really like this drama..but those are pretty low ratings for a big superstar like himself.

Wrong information and cyzo strikes yet again.

He only pulled more than 40% just once for the finale of Beautiful Life. But he constantly pulled more than 20% in rating.

I think the story line was the worst in any KimuTaku drama but I still enjoy it. The latest episode that scored 13.4% was up against the world cup match between Netherlands and Denmark shown on NHK. (Admittedly, this episode of Tsuki no Koibito was also the most boring episode in any KimuTaku drama I’ve ever seen)

love kimutaku no matter what…he is the best j actor!!

  • Hikari光

To be honest~ Kimura Takuya’s doramas are still probably the most popular few, but you have them going against the world cup broadcasting time, and to be honest, 13.4% as a lowest rating considering the economy today may be shocking but it’s not bad. I just think that a dorama doesn’t necessarily need an extreme high 20-30 percent rating but the reputation that this dorama got is actually really good~ Support KimuTaku no matter what<3

  • arashi_oneday

I am sure it’s just a one time thing coz KimuTaku’s a legend.

  • chocomaxfactor

Well I like it, but the episode was so so, and not that interesting, but I still loved it! But the World Cup is going on so that’s probably why. I think the KimuTaku legend will continue!

he still manage to score well now. i like drama though its not must see.

  • Rachel Sweet

yea i think 40% is a bit exaggerating.. but it’s true the drama’s not garnering attention as his past projects. personally i wouldn’t even consider watching had it not been for kimura. i don’t think the plot is crazy fascinating but then that could be just because i can’t stand romance

  • Kitamura

noooo Kimutaku, well his past dorama were quite good.

  • iheartArashi

noooooo….. i think the drama will pick up again… :)

  • pinkwonderwoman

kimutaku’s dramas are always pulling in big ratings– that’s ok, i’m sure it will pick up :)

  • 143dOrKy

does the series get any better? cuz i might have to agree with the rating, i dont know if it because of the collab with a chinese actress or the cheesy plot that i often see in chinese series but i stop watching after ep 3. it was too much torture for me.

  • macgurl

I’m enjoying Tsuki no Koibito and think this article is a bit inflamatory. Kimutaku is still full of charisma and a talented actor! I think good scripts are hard to come by (didn’t enjoy Mr. Brain as much as Change, Engine, or Pride–but those had killer plots!).

  • Kitty2day

isn’t it just because it’s the world cup now?

  • luvablesteph

The drama is really good though :/ Maybe the next drama he does will be good.

  • SS501saranghae

honestly, this drama’s not as good as i’d hoped it’d be. i’m still watching it though because it gets pretty fascinating after a while, despite some cheesiness in its plot. i’m also interested in how the Abe Tsuyoshi and Matsuda Shota reunion will go, especially since I don’t think they’ve been in anything else together that wasnt HYD related. XD

there is nothing to do with Kimura Takuya about 13% rating..He is the best as always….There are many other factors that affect drama’s rating
