Japan’s population declining

For the first time in three years Japan’s population has fallen to 127,057,860 as of March. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications say that a majority of it lies within the increase of deaths among the aging population.  Population was down 18,323, where a number of deaths exceeded births. This is a record net drop (natural decline) of 73,024.

Otsuka Ai loves with new song

Japanese pop mainstay Otsuka Ai has just announced a new single titled “I ♥ ×××” (pronounced ‘I love’).  It is the twenty first single from the singer/songwriter and will be released on September 8th.

Norwegian Wood and 13 Assassins go to Venice Film Festival

Tokyo Sky Tree is the tallest building in Japan

Just 1km east of Asakusa, the tallest building is being built. The Tokyo Sky Tree stands as of now stands at whopping 408m on Friday. The plan for this building is expected to reach 634m by 2012. The tower is located in the Narihirabashi/Oshiage are of Sumida Ward in Tokyo. Construction for the tower starting in July 2008.

Japanese fans remember Michael Jackson

Mother arrested for killing her kids

A mother in Osaka was arrested today after neglecting her two children. The oldest, Sakurako (3), and Kaede (1) were found abandoned in their apartment in late June. Autopsy reports show that they died in the middle of June after not being fed for several days. In short, she starved them.
