SMAP’s total concert attendees reach 10 million!

From their debut concert at the Nippon Budokan arena in 1991 to their recent “We are SMAP! 2010 SMAP CONCERT TOUR” concert on the 15th, SMAP has played to an astounding figure of 10 million fans total!
They held their first concert at Nippon Budokan in 1991, and with the concert on the 15th, the total number of attendees for their concerts reached 10 million after 20 years since their debut. To celebrate this fantastic record, SMAP played a video of their 19-year history which included rare footage from the days when they had 6 members (Mori Katsuyuki left the group in 1996 to be a professional motorcycle racer).
The concert was 4 hours long, and they performed 46 songs including their debut song ” Can’t Stop!! -LOVING-“.
SMAP members thanked the audience for supporting them and making this great record. They also extended a challenge to create a new record of 20 million attendees, and they hope their fans will help achieve it.
The final stage of the live tour will be held on the 19th at Tokyo Dome, after which they will perform in Shanghai, China – their first live concert overseas.
