Today on September 29th Tohoshinki dropped two simultanous DVD releases in Japan, “TOHOSHINKI History in JAPAN SPECIAL” and “Zooming!! SUPER Shika Shiranai Tohoshinki.”

The “TOHOSHINKI History” DVD is a special release on four total discs, clocking in at over 340 minutes of material.  It contains footage of when they first came to Japan to release music, tours, events offshoot footage; all gathered together and re-edited for Disc 1.  Disc 2 will contain solo video clips of the members.  Disc 3 will have recaps and highlights from the groups appearances on the music information show “Channel-a” for fans to enjoy.  Finally, disc 4 will include their performances from 2005 through 2009 at a-nation, the annual summer concert tour for the avex record label.

“Zooming!!” was a television broadcast featuring Tohoshinki and it has been collected into this two disc DVD release.  The show documents their growth as artists, covering everything from their Korean concerts to Japanese concerts.  Intersperced with the footage it will have live talks with the group as they eat in a Korean restaurant.  The footage was 60 minutes on air, but everything included in this package comes out to 90 minutes in length.

Considering the recent legal concerns with Tohoshinki’s management and contracts in Japan this is probably one of the last formal releases involving the group for the foreseeable future.  Fans eagerly picked up the DVD’s in addition to some older Tohoshinki’s DVD’s as they took 6 out of the top 10 spots on the Oricon Daily DVD Chart.
