Horikita Maki on "Guru-Guru Ninety-Nine" (NTV)

Not a lot of viewers turned into last week’s premiere of Fuji TV’s Monday drama “Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta“. This week it lost some viewers again, but at least it only was a minimal decrease in ratings. This could mean that almost everyone who saw the first episode got hooked and will be watching it for at least a couple more episodes or even until the end. It will be nice if the drama can stay above the 10% mark after this season.

A very strong “Shabekuri 007” and “SMAPxSMAP” made it quite difficult for the TV Tokyo drama “Saijo no Meii” at 10pm.

We all knew that there was only one important thing on Tuesday, the exciting semi-final match between all-time rivals Japan and South Korea. One hour before the match everything was still normal on TV, no big losses or gains for any show. Unfortunately “CONTROL” was one of those that lost a little. However, when the match was starting, every other show started to suffer. Especially Fuji TV’s drama “Utsukushii Rinjin“, which just experienced an increase in ratings for its second episode, received a huge blow and lost more than 5.0%. Hopefully people recorded the show and won’t forget to tune in again next week.

On Wednesday the newest episode of the popular series “Aibou” turned out to be a new season’s best and delivered on all ends. Nobody is able to get even close to that show on Wednesday evening. “Misaki Number One!!” lost a couple of viewers again, but it is still within an acceptable range. It should be careful not to lose the same amount of viewers every week or else it is going to become a disappointing ending for the drama.

Last week I stated for Thursday that “Honboshi” is more of an underdog, but I guess I was wrong. It actually gained a lot of new viewers this week. “Guru-Guru Ninety-Nine” was strong again that evening, maybe it had something to do with Horikita Maki being a guest on the show? She never seemed to be someone that would be able to pull off a lot of ratings by herself, though. Everything else was so-so. “Diplomat Kuroda Kosaku” is still not picking up pace, ratings wise.
