Horikita Maki worries about having an “evil woman” image because her movie

tokyohive has been following the progress of the upcoming movie “Byakuyako“, a psychological thriller starring Horikita Maki and Kora Kengo. On January 5th, both Horikita and Kora appeared for a PR event at Haneda Airport to build anticipation for the film. Since Horikita will take on the challenging role of an evil, manipulative woman for the first time, she confessed at the event, “I’m worried that people may think that ‘She seems scary even when she smiles’.”
Horikita also revealed, “Even though Yukiho (Horikita’s role) is described as an evil woman, there are practically no scenes which show Yukiho’s villainy. She is more of a lady who obtains her ambitions and desires by controlling other people. Therefore, it was difficult to figure out how I would trick the audience while showing her depravity.”
Kora, who will play Yukiho’s supportive childhood friend, also confessed that acting to deceive people was a difficult part of the craft.
“Byakuyako” will be released on January 26th.
