JAYWALK vocalist Nakamura Koichi (60) has been found guilty of narcotics usage, and Freeway Productions, the rock group's record label, has issued a statement saying that Nakamura has been dismissed from the band and his contract has been canceled after an agreement between the singer and corporate.

In May of last year, Nakamura was accused of possessing and abusing cocaine and other stimulants and was sentenced by the Tokyo District Court to two years of imprisonment with hard labor, while being granted up to four years before compulsory initiation of the sentence.

JAYWALK debuted in 1981 as a six-member male rock group that scored a hit with the band's 1991 song, "Nanimo Ienakute...Natsu", and in 1993, JAYWALK participated in the NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen.
