Drama Prime Time Report – March 28th~31th

"Taisetsu na Koto" (Fuji TV)

“Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta”, one of the last few winter dramas, has come to an end on Monday. Unfortunately, the final was on par with the weakest episode so far, reaching only 10.5% of the households (Kanto region) with a TV set. Therefore it didn’t manage to enter the top 5 of the winter dramas, although Fuji TV’s Monday dramas always used to aim for a spot in the top 3 in the past. A positive result is that contrary to the expectations of most critics, it managed to stay above 10% throughout the whole season.

This almost concludes the report for March 28th to March 31st, since we are now in mid-season between the winter and the spring season. Most channels are airing all kind of variety specials during those 2-3 weeks, but there are also some drama specials like the much-anticipated starring debut of child actress Ashida Mana in “Sayonara Bokutachi no Youchien” on Wednesday. Ashida was as amazing as adorable as usual, and the other child actors were great as well. Prior to her drama, she appeared in various variety shows, therefore you will find plenty of Ashida pictures below.

I really liked the ending of “Taisetsu na Koto”, glad Shuuji finally got his head right and went back to Natsumi, though he doesn’t deserve her because of all the crap he put her through

And of course Natsumi was stupid enough to take the moron back. That killed an already mediocre series with a sub-par plot for me. He cheated once, he will cheat again. Sad thing is, it’s like that in RL all the time. When it comes to things like this women are often too naive and stupid. He cheats, crawls back, she takes him back. He cheats again, rinse and repeat. It’s often the same in domestic violence cases. He beats his wife/gf, crawls back, she takes him back, 2 weeks later rinse and repeat.

Natsumi is that type of women who are so passive and submissive that they remind me of gum stuck to my shoe. They make me throw up.

Why can’t the heroine, just once, tell the moron “No! Go away, you’re a liar and a cheat and you can piss off!”? Of course, that would not work with the standard display of women (usually enforced by women themselves.) Why not whack him with a frying pan? Oh yeah, women don’t do that, right? Maybe they should. The moron totally has it coming in such a case. Understanding, tolerance and forgiving only gets you that far and only works until the cheater cheats again. And he will. The moment he knows he can get away with it, he will do it again.

If any guy does that with my daughter, niece, or god-daughters (and I will find out), I’ll stomp him into the ground faster than he can say “Quidditch”.
