Today a press conference for the Japanese broadcast of the American drama "Hawaii Five-O" was held, and two fans of the series, young actress Kawakita Mayuko and former sumo wrestler KONISHIKI, attended the event to promote the series in Japan.

"Hawaii Five-O" is about a man called Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) who returns home to Oahu in order to find his father's killer. The governor offers him the chance to run his own task force (Five-O). Steve's team is soon joined by Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim), Danny "Danno" Williams (Scott Caan), and Kono Kalakaua (Grace Park). The series is a remake of the drama of the same name that aired in the 1970s.

The now 19-year-old Kawakita entered the entertainment industry when she won the "9th Japan Beautiful Girl Contest" in 2003, and now works as a model and an up-and-coming young actress. She also was the girl in Big Bang's music video for "My Heaven". At the event she once again impressed with her beauty and a short red dress that emphasized her pretty legs. Born in the USA and equipped with fluent English skills, Kawakita set her ambitions high for her future career as an actress.

She commented, "I definitely would want to try out a role like that of Grace Park. I want to play a cool and strong woman like her. With English as my special weapon, I also would love to become active overseas." Further she revealed the actors with whom she would like to work together once, "Johnny Depp, since I love him so much." As for Japanese actors, "Watanabe Ken. He has the image of a really cool father."

Meanwhile KONISHIKI explained why he likes the drama so much, "It's full of action and much faster than back in the day. The fast storyline is typical for America. It's very exciting and never gets boring!"

"Hawaii Five-O" will start airing in Japan on AXN on May 22nd.
