On June 23rd, actress Ishibashi Anna, actor Abe Yuji, producer Yokoyama Hiroyuki, and author Kurashina Ryo attended a press conference for "Brooklyn-bashi wo Watatte".

The movie is about a girl (Ishibashi) who lives in New York due to her father's (Abe) work. There, she meets an American boy through music, and they exchange cultures.

"It was my first time in New York, but the scenery was so beautiful," said Ishibashi as she reminisced about filming in America. "Going to New York itself has made such a huge impact on me; I've found a new interest. They let me go to places that symbolize New York so I felt free and enjoyed myself. The streets from Times Square and the Empire State Building was so beautiful... I only had good memories; I'm very excited for the release."

Since many of Ishibashi's lines are in English, she commented, "I was really nervous as this was my first English dialogue, but I got to do it slowly and enjoyably. I can't speak English but I had someone teaching me, so I listened to their pronunciations before the take."

Ishibashi also reflected on her American co-stars during the event. "I thought American actors had freedom," she commented. "Even when filming ended at late hours, the actor would take the staff home in his car. That would never happen in Japan."

"Brooklyn-bashi wo Watatte" is scheduled for a release this autumn.
