'Utena' voice actress Kawakami Tomoko passes away

On June 9th, voice actress Kawakami Tomoko passed away from ovarian cancer at the age of 41. The seiyuu is well-known for her roles as�'Tenjo Utena' in "Revolutionary Girl Utena", 'Shindo Hikaru' in "Hikaru no Go", and 'Hinata Fuyuki' (for the first 232 epsiodes) in "Keroro Guns?".

Kawakami withdrew from her career in 2008 in order to focus on getting well. News of her death shocked the Japanese Twitterverse, and many voice actors as well as anime directors have posted tweets mourning Kawakami.
