NHK Taiga drama “Gou” completes filming for the series

Popular NHK Taiga drama, “Gou“, wrapped up filming for the series on September 30th, and to celebrate, the cast held a crank up ceremony at a studio in Shibuya.

“Gou” started filming from August 19th of last year and wrapped up more than a year later in Nagano. Lead actress Ueno Juri (who played the role of ‘Gou’), as well as Mukai Osamu (‘Tokugawa Hidetaka’) and Mizukawa Asami (‘Hatsu’) expressed their joy as the customary ornament ball dropped from the ceiling.

Ueno was filled with emotion as she said, “At first I trembled with anxiety, but in the end, I was able to finish with a smile. It was a good year.” Mizukawa also commented, “A Taiga drama is like a muscle training of the heart. I was able to train myself.” Meanwhile, Mukai expressed, “With more training, I want to do my best to return to this place.

The final episode of “Gou” will air on November 27th.
