Sakamoto Maaya to star in musical next fall
It’s been revealed that Sakamoto Maaya will be starring in the musical, “Ashinaga Ojisan“, next fall.
“Ashinaga Ojisan” is based on a famous novel by American author Jean Webster. The story was previously adapted into a musical starring Okazaki Yuki, Harada Tomoyo, and Mana Kana.
The script will be written and directed by John Caird, who is known for “Les Miserables“, “The Beggar’s Opera“, and “Candide“. Sakamoto will play the heroine, ‘Judy’, and Inoue Yoshio will co-star as ‘Jervis’.
The musical will open at Hibiya Theater Crea in September 2012.
