AKB48’s Akimoto Sayaka to star in her first NHK drama

On February 7th, it was revealed that AKB48 member Akimoto Sayaka would be starring in her first NHK drama.

The drama will be titled “Asadora Satsujin Jiken“, and will air for two consecutive nights in late-March. NHK has yet to announce the exact date and time of the airing of the drama.

“Asadora Satsujin Jiken” will be written Hokimoto Shinya, the scriptwriter for “Comedy Unit Isokawa-ke“. The story will revolve around Miho (played by Akimoto), an asadora assistant producer who one day discovers a giant daruma in the studio. This makes it impossible to film the drama, so the chief producer (Kokusho Sayuri) orders Miho to get rid of it and hands her a ‘Ghost Countermeasure Manual’.

This will be NHK’s first time experimenting with a ‘multi-channel drama’. During the middle of its broadcast, the story’s main plot will be shown on the main channel, while the sub-channel will show scenes of Miho’s thoughts. Viewers will be signaled when to switch over to the various channels.

Additionally, it was announced that Kiriyama Ken will play one of the staff members of the studio, and Chris Peppler will be in charge of announcing the switch of channels as the ‘Multi Fairy’. Rokkaku Seiji and Aijima Kazuyuki will also star in the drama.
