AKB48’s Shinoda Mariko attends “In Time” Japanese premiere wearing $4.5 million worth of Jewelry

On February 8th, AKB48’s Shinoda Mariko (25) attended the Japanese premium event for the Hollywood movie “In Time“, directed by Andrew Niccol. The movie is set to premiere in Japan on the 17th and Shinoda wore extravagant jewelries worth 350,000,000 yen (approximately USD $4,550,000) to this event.
Shinoda attended this event as a guest and also as a voice actress who dubbed the voice of the main female protagonist in this movie. With wearing approximately 120 carat worth of Harry Winston jewelry including a necklace, ring, piercings, and a bracelet, she commented, “I feel like I won the lottery,” and gave a big smile towards the camera. It was also revealed that her one-of-a-kind necklace was worth 200,000,000 yen (approximately US $2,600,000) alone. Regarding this fact, she unveiled, “I feel like I am wearing all of Japan’s expensive jewelry. I can feel the weight,” and showed a bit of a nervous expression.
As this film focuses on the theme of ‘time,’ Shinoda was asked by one of the reporters what she would do if her remaining time was short. She replied, “I would spend the rest of my time with my people important in my life.” Surprised with her response, the reporter asked, “With the members? And if you had eternity to live, what would you be doing 100 years from now?” Towards this inquiry, Shinoda confidently answered, “I am having a lot of fun right now so I would continue to be in AKB48,” and showed her smile along with this comment.
