B’z sets new record with their 50th single “GO FOR IT, BABY -Kioku no Sanmyaku-”
The 50th single of popular rock band B’z, “GO FOR IT, BABY -Kioku no Sanmyaku-” (released on April 4th), has sold 143,000 copies in its first week and has topped Oricon Weekly Ranking for April 16th.
Along with this recent feat, B’z has now topped Oricon Single Weekly Ranking 46 consecutive times since their June 1990 single “Taiyou no Komachi Angel”. The band has had their singles top this ranking for a total of 63 weeks and is now tied with female pop duo Pink Lady for the historic record of having their singles in first place for the longest time.
Before this single, B’z already held nine other record breakers from having the most number of sales to having their works consecutively sell millions of copies annually. The popular band has now obtained a total of ten records on Oricon charts.
