Drama Prime Time Report – 01/21~01/24

Monday — The ratings are dropping and not only for the prime time dramas. Only a few variety specials aired this Monday and not even those were able to maintain the level of the previous week. There were some surprisingly big drop in ratings, but not much of a surprise was the slight fall of 2.1% for ‘Biblia Koshodo no Jiken Techo‘ (Fuji TV) and its second episode. Meanwhile, police drama ‘Hancho 6‘ (TBS) was able carry over almost all of its viewers from its premiere last week.

Tuesday — There is nothing positive to report about the Tuesday dramas as well. ‘Last Hope‘ (Fuji TV) lost 2.3% and dropped down to a rating of 11.9%. The following dramas were all able to gain viewers last week, but it didn’t look as good for some of them this week. Especially ‘Saki‘ (Fuji TV) surprised with a sudden drop of 2.8%, which threw it down towards the single-digit ratings. There it’s now in the company of ‘Itsuka Hi no Ataru Basho de‘ (NHK), which is still doing well for a NHK dramas and only lost 0.5% with its third episode. ‘Shotenin Michiru no Minoue Banashi‘ (NHK) lost all that was gained last week and fell down to 5.2% again.

At 01:00 am, TBS premiered the ‘Kodomo Keisatsu‘ spin-off drama ‘Kodomo Keiji‘ that features Sexy Zone’s Marius Yo as the main character instead of Suzuki Fuku, although the latter and the rest of the cast are still part of this spin-off. It managed to attract 1.7% of the Kanto households during this time slot.

Wednesday — ‘Aibou season11‘ (TV Asahi) had to hand over quite a lot of viewers to the other networks this time and lost 4.4% compared to last week. Fortunately that wasn’t enough to make it fall below the 15% mark again. ‘Share House no Koibito‘ (NTV) also lost 2.0% and has already reached the single-digit ratings with its second episode.

Thursday — The negative trend of the prime time dramas continued on Thursday. ‘Kasouken no Onna‘ (TV Asahi) has already found its viewers and only lost a fraction of its viewers. Furthermore NHK finally premiered the BS Premium series ‘Tsukahara Bokuden‘ – starring Sakai Masato – on public TV and recorded a good rating of 7.5%. The 9:00 pm dramas ‘Otome-san‘ (TV Asahi) and ‘Apoyan‘ (TBS) both lost an expected amount of viewers with their second episodes respectively. ‘Saikou no Rikon‘ (Fuji TV) only lost around 0.2% this week and is hanging in there in the double-digit region with a rating of 10.8%.
