MISIA goes global with David Foster collab

allkpop

R&B singer MISIA will be joining dozens of other world names on Canadian producer David Foster's new compilation album "Love, Again," due out on September 15th in Japan. Her song "Life in Harmony" will be produced by Foster who says that MISIA has a "singing voice comparable to Mariah Carey and Celine Dion."

Earlier this month MISIA headed to Los Angeles to record the new song with Foster. Although Foster produced the song and melody, MISIA wrote the lyrics to the song herself. The producer had nothing but the highest compliments of the Japanese vocalist, naming her in comparison to other top world singers and saying that she was "without a doubt, a treasure of Japan."

Foster will also be using this as an opportunity to tour Japan and Asia; his first visit in about 16 years. The producer was eager to collaborate with Asian artists for the tour and chose MISIA instantly. "She has this really earthy power," Foster commented of MISIA. The singer herself was familiar with Foster's work and was very happy to have been chosen for the collaboration.

David Foster is known for his work for Boz Scaggs and Chicago and produced the theme song to Whitney Houston's movie The Bodyguard. He has also worked with Japanese singer/actress Matsuda Seiko. MISIA is known for having a vocal range of five octaves and became famous with her hit "Everything."

"Love, Again" will feature collaborations with artists from all over the world such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Celine Dion, Matsuda Seiko, Natalie Cole, Peter Cetera, and Whitney Houston.
