Ex-members of Ayabie become AYABIE

allkpop

The former members of visual kei rock group Ayabie have finally decided on a new name for their new four person band; AYABIE.

Takehito, Yumehito, Intetsu, and Kenzo all left the group back in August to form their own group, leaving Aoi as the sole member of Ayabie. The new group name is written entirely in English capital letters as AYABIE, unlike the former band name which was written as Ayabie in Japanese (????).

The four members revealed the decision on their official website. They commented, "For the four of us, there is no real replacement for Ayabie. We mutually decided to go down different paths." The members agreed that although they couldn't continue on as Ayabie, they wanted to produce something for the fans who have been patiently waiting for them to make some new music together.

Drummer Kenzo also officially changed his stage name to KENZO, instead of the original spelling which was in katakana (???).

The new AYABIE group will start their live reappearances on October 22nd at the Shibuya O-EAST. This show will be a taste of the band before their nationwide tour in November. The tour will officially start on November 30th and will run to January 6th, performing 11 shows across Japan.
