SMAP's first concert in Shanghai could be cancelled
SMAP has been planning to hold their first overseas concerts in Shanghai on October 9th and 10th. However, there's a possibility that the event could be canceled due to the high anti-Japanese sentiment in China.
Japanese naval officers have arrested the captain of a Chinese fishing boat when the vessel collided with a Japanese coast guard ship. Japanese officers are claiming that it was a deliberate hit and that the captain was fishing illegally; they are currently detaining the Chinese captain, amidst opposition from China.
According to the Mainichi Daily News, local agencies have brought ticket sales to a stop as per orders from the organizer on September 18th. The sales are still in suspension. Approximately 80,000 tickets were already sold, and it's not yet known if fans will be reimbursed should the concert fall through.
