Kusumi Koharu talks about her autobiography, "17 Sai no Tenshoku"

allkpop

We reported back in December that ex-Morning Musume member Kusumi Koharu would be releasing her first essay book, and now the star has given some insight into her upcoming release.

Kusumi made her debut in show business at the tender age of twelve, and graduated from Morning Musume at seventeen years old. The essay, titled "17 Sai no Tenshoku," will be a frank description of her upbringing, her graduation, and her daily life after leaving Morning Musume.

"In order to take my first step towards my new dreams, I changed occupations at seventeen. I want to communicate to all sorts of people that your dreams can come true no matter how old you are," the now eighteen-year-old replied when asked about her motivation to write an autobiography.

Kusumi, who is currently obsessed about organic food, has been cultivating a rented organic vegetable garden in Chiba since last summer. In fall of 2010, Kusumi's garden met the requirements for consumption as raw food and for seed quality. "Since the place where I was raised, Nagaoka, didn't have health food, my body became (so weak) from continuously eating bento boxes that I would catch colds all the time after coming to Tokyo," the ex-idol said of her previous eating habits. She also confessed that after graduating, she frequented supermarkets to reassess her diet. "It was then that I wanted my own field," Kusumi revealed with a smile. She now visits a farmer family once a month to harvest lettuce and Chinese cabbage.

"When I saw that my dream of becoming an idol had come true... I thought of doing something I'd wanted to do next without regretting it. Right now I'm a 'teenage farmer.' After this, I want to show the other sides of me. I want to try modeling in a fashion magazine that I've been admiring for a long time," Kusumi said when asked about her future plans, eyes glittering at the prospect of yet another career change.

Kusumi Koharu's book will be available for sale on February 10th, and can be purchased for 1,500.
