Actor Takahashi Katsumi and actress Nagasawa Masami announced on January 13th that they have been cast as father and daughter for an upcoming April drama that is tentatively titled,"Dare Yori mo Kimi wo Aisu."
The family comedy will be set in Shizuoka, where a daughter moves with her father after her parent's divorce. The two run an eel shop together and gradually begin to rebuild their bond. The script, originally based off of NHK's morning serial,"Chiritote-Chan," is said to make the viewers both laugh and cry.
Takahashi Katsumi and Nagasawa Masami previously played father and daughter in a printer commercial, but this is their first time performing such roles in a drama. Takahashi, who has known the actress since she was about 10, seems to have high hopes for it. "It's a lot of fun. The story incorporated into the script is really hilarious," he said excitedly. Nagasawa was very positive about it as well, "When I first heard about the drama's story, I was really happy because I love my hometown," the Shizuoka native replied.
