The popular Japanese comedy duo "Downtown", consisting of Matsumoto Hitoshi and Hamada Masatoshi, will return to Fuji TV's Sunday 8pm prime time slot with a new show.

It's been 14 years since Downtown had their last show in the said time slot, but now it has been announced that they're going return to the much coveted time slot with "Bakusho! Dainippon Akan Keisatsu".

In the show they're going to feature ridiculous police cases sent in by viewers that unintentionally make you laugh. One of those cases is going to feature a washing machine whose sounds had been mistaken as ecstatic moans.

The duo already aired three "Akan Keisatsu" specials at night and achieved ratings of 12.9%. Young and old viewers enjoy their conversations and comedy situations a lot, thus Fuji TV decided to turn it into a regular show and show it in the prime time.

The new show is scheduled to begin airing in April.
