Earlier today it was announced that Kishitani Goro and Fukada Kyoko are going to star in a new movie called "Yoake no Machi de" this fall.

The movie is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Higashino Keigo and will be directed by Wakamatsu Setsuro ("Whiteout", "The Unbroken").

The story is set in Yokohama and according to Higashino, he was heavily influenced by the Southern All Stars' hit song "LOVE AFFAIR ~Himitsu no Date~" when writing the novel. A boss and his subordinate happen to meet each other at a batting center and start to become much closer to each other. While he is completely indulging himself into this immoral relationship, she has to struggle with being a prime suspect for a murder case that occurred 15 years ago and is about to come under the statute of limitations.

Kishitani is a big fan of Higashino's works. He commented, "I think it's a real unique story. Normally you only see the happiness of a man being in love with a woman, but here you can see a second side to it, a side that shows that pain is always not too far away from this happiness." Further he added that, since he is such a fan, he will be absolutely careful about his acting and always interact with the director in order to find to deliver the best ways to convey the fascination of his character.

Fukada also commented about her role and said, "I think she is a very strong-willed woman. I can't sympathize with immoral love, but I think I will still be able to express the pain in her heart and the power of their love." Moreover she added, "I want to show new sides of myself, therefore I'm exploring all kind of new directions, even if some are a little scary. I'd like to try and respond to as many of Wakamatsu Setsuro's requests as good as possible and tackle this project with all my might."

"Yoake no Machi de" is planned to open in Japan sometime this fall.
