It's been announced that the special charity countdown event for the "3rd Okinawa International Film Festival" has gathered a total of 1.93 million Yen for disaster aid!
The 'Okinawa Film Festival' is being held at the Okinawa Convention Center in the city of Ginowan, and at the Sakura-Zaka theater in Naha, the capital of Okinawa. Starting from March 18th, several comedians have helped collect funds for the victims of the earthquake and tsunamis at the Sakura-Zaka theatre. In just four days, they've managed to gather a total of 1.93 million Yen!
This film festival was created in 2009, and in 2010, it attracted around 380,000 people. This year, the organizers hope that even more people will come and watch some of the films being screened at the event. Furthermore, they hope to gather even more funds for the disaster relief throughout the festival, which will all be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
