Hip-hop unit NERDHEAD has announced that they will be making their major label debut this year!

NERDHEAD will release their single "Doushite Suki Nan Darou feat. Mai-K" on June 1st, which features the vocals of pop singer Kuraki Mai. This marks the first time that Kuraki has used the name "Mai-K" since her less-than-successful attempt to break into the American market in 1999.

NERDHEAD is the solo project of Giorgio Cancemi, a hit producer who helped four songs make it into the top ten ringtones of 2010. His three-member unit made their indie debut last year with their first single, "BRAVE HEART feat. Nishino Kana".

"Doushite Suki Nanda Darou feat. Mai-K" is described as a painful love song, where two people realize that they have mutual feelings for each other, but know that their love can't come to fruition. "As soon as the mic picked up Kuraki-san's voice, I saw in an instant that this song was complete, and a 'picture' in the song - much like a movie - began (forming)," said Giorgio of working with Kuraki Mai.
