On May 1st, a memorial screening of "0 kara no Kaze" (released in 2007) which was the last movie�Tanaka Yoshiko starred in, was held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills. Sugiura Taiyo who played the son of Tanaka in the movie, made an appearance to greet the audience.
As we reported, Tanaka Yoshiko unfortunately passed away on April 21st due to breast cancer, and this screening was started in memory of Tanaka on April 30th (will continue until May 13th).
The director of the movie, Shioya Toshi also attended the screening, and he read a letter for Tanaka. �While Shioya was reading the letter, Sugiura started tearing up, and talked about the time when he shot the movie with her. Sugiura stated, "It just remind me of Tanaka-san's smiles back then. �She was always bright and kind, and treated me as if I was her real son. �She was the image of kind mother to me." � �Sugiura also said, "I was the one who died in the movie, but Tanaka-san is not here anymore...I feel like 'why is mother not here?' �I feel honored that I was able to play as her son, and I respect her."
The directer, Shioya revealed on his letter to Tanaka, that there was a plan to make a new movie with her, however, he said, "It's pointless without Tanaka-san since it was planned for her. �So I will seal the plan."
