It was announced on June 12th that AKB48 will be starting auditions for 13th generation members soon! The last time the group held auditions was back in February, when 9 girls were chosen from over 10,000 applicants to be the 12 generation (or 9th generation research students). This time, the auditions will be held in 9 areas throughout Japan, although AKB48's official website has not yet been updated with the full details.

June 12th was also the last day in AKB48's revival concert series, "Minogashita kimi tachi e ~AKB Group Zenkouen~". The final performance was a revival of the group's debut setlist "A1st: Party ga Hajimru yo" by 1st and 2nd generation members.

1st generation's Maeda Atsuko, who came in first place in the 3rd senbatsu election, announced prior to the concert, "Today, I will wear the uniform from debut and act youthful."
