It's been announced that Horipro will hold charity concerts on July 18th and 19th to raise money for earthquake relief in Japan.

Artists who will perform at the event include AKB48's Itano Tomomi, former AKB48 member Oshima Mai, and May'n, as well as veterans Wada Akiko and Sakabara Ikue. The concert has been named "Song for you", and will be hosted by talento SHEILA and comedy duo Speed Wagon. Held in Ginza Theatre, which seats 746 people, each artist is expected to sing 2 to 3 songs with minimal stage effects to conserve electricity.

This is the first time Horipro has organized a charity concert of this kind in its 51-year history. Wada commented, "We singers cannot do anything extraordinary. The only thing we can do is sing our emotions. However, to work hard at delivering songs with emotion, I think that's an artist's duty."
