Following the news of K-Pop groups Rainbow and T-ARA's crossover to Japan, it's been announced that 4-membered girl group SECRET have also planned to debut there as well. The girls plan to break into the J-pop scene with the Japanese version of their hit single "Madonna", which will come out on August 3rd.

SECRET has been called "basement idols" in the past, because they used to live in a dorm that was half underground when they first debuted. Although the group's debut song wasn't much of a hit, they broke through with their singles "Magic" and "Madonna" last year. Their 2011 single "Shy Boy" gave the group their first #1, and in March, member Jieun's solo also topped the charts.

These girls became one of the hottest girl groups in Korea, and Japanese record labels battled hotly for their contract. In the end, SECRET signed on with Sony Music Artist Records.

A representative from Sony commented, "I was surprised by how good the songs were, as well as how polished their performance was."

Leader Hyosung commented, "With our Japanese debut coming up, I am very nervous. We are preparing very hard with new feelings, so please look forward to it. And please give SECRET a lot of love."

The group will be holding a showcase live in Tokyo on July 6th prior to the release of their Japanese single.
