After a three-month long delay due to the Tohoku earthquake, the filming for the international drama "Strangers 6" finally started at the end of June.

"Strangers 6" is set in the fictional Chinese city of 'Haiwan' where companies from South Korea, Japan, and China are able to work together without any national boundaries. However, a huge earthquake is predicted to hit the city within the next three months, which would cause a big regional and even bigger economical disaster. It would be possible to avoid such a disaster and protect the city with a special device installed beneath its streets, but that would require cutting-edge technology and a huge sum of money from all three countries.

Believing that this is the only way to protect the economy, the countries are quick to agree on this joint-operation and hasten their efforts to complete the earthquake counter-measures. Unfortunately, somebody is trying to interfere with the project and attempts to assassinate the people involved. The three countries can't just stand by and watch, and so they send their best experts and agents to form the top-secret group "Strangers 6" in order to find out who's behind the assassination plot.

Japanese actor Karasawa Toshiaki (48) plays a Japanese agent in this secret group and the first promo pictures already show that he's hit the gym considerably for this drama. He even hired a personal trainer and abstained from his beloved sake for over a month. From six in the morning to nine in the evening, he did nothing but train and drink nutrition drinks. Thanks to the training, he buffed up his body and lost five kilo.

He commented, "This is the project with the most action scenes in my career so far."

Karasawa also talked about his wife, actress�Yamaguchi Tomoko, who is currently staying overseas for one of her projects. "I told her to extend her stay abroad until I finish my training", he laughed, "I wouldn't want her to follow along her husband with his strict training."

With confidence he added, "It was really painful, but I think I can still move my body quite well. I can't wait for more action scenes!"

The other members of "Strangers 6" are made up of South-Korean actors Oh Ji-Ho and Kim Hyo-Jin, Japanese actor Kikawada Masaya, and the two Chinese actors Bowie Lam and Liu Xuan. Also appearing are the Japanese actresses Kanno Misuzu and Idoling!!! member Morita Suzuka.

"Strangers 6" is scheduled to air in Japan on pay-TV channel WOWOW this winter and on Fuji TV in 2012.
