Hajime Chitose will be releasing her newest single "Towa no Shirabe" on August 31st. This song is Hajime's first new single in nearly three years, and it's already been picked up to be used as the theme song for a new movie titled 'Nichirin no Isan'. Starring Sakai Masato, the movie was directed by Sasabe Kiyoshi and will be released in theaters August 27th.
The lyrics for "Towa no Shirabe" were reportedly inspired by a Scottish folk song called "Annie Laurie".
Hajime commented, "There comes a time in life for everyone to fall into a deep sleep, and when they do, they must want a song written for them. If there is a song like that, I believe that people can live within people for a very long time. I want a song for the girls in this film. I wrote this song with that kind of wish."
This movie is based on the novel by Asada Jiro, also known for 'Poppoya' and 'Metro ni Notte', who commented, "When they told me I can write freely, and when I let this work out into the world, that's when I first felt that I was a real novelist." The story takes place in post-war Japan where three military men and 20 young girls are sent on a mission to steal a precious 900 billion yen treasure fromMacArthurfor Japan's redevelopment. Aside from Sakai, a luxurious group of actors such as Nakamura Shido, Fukushi Seiji, Yusuke SantaMaria, and Yachigusa Kaoru will support this movie.
