Actor Ichihara Hayato has been chosen to star in the new TBS drama series, "Runaway~Aisuru Kimi no Tame ni", starting this October.
Ichihara will play the role of a man who escapes prison for his daughter after being falsely charged with a crime. This will be the first time in two years since he last starred in a drama, he commented, "I'm excited for this new drama, and I can feel the adrenaline overflowing within me."
The drama starts with four young men who make plans to escape prison, each going after their own goals. From Kitakyushu, they overcome many trials to reach Tokyo, 1,000 kilometers away. It is said that the drama will resemble the American tv series, "Prison Break".
Ichihara played the role of a high school student in the drama, "ROOKIES". This time, he will challenge the role of a father for the first time. Breaking new grounds, Ichihara said with passion, "I want to give it my all."
Producer Kato Shoichi explained, "Young people these days act cool. They don't stand face to face with hardships or trials, and have this image of avoiding things. Ichihara-kun's pure and straightforward image fit perfectly with the main character who faces an unfair destiny." He continued, "By watching his devotion, I hope it will give hope and courage to people when they are faced with trials."
"Runaway~Aisuru Kimi no Tame ni" will air on Thursdays from 9:00 PM starting October.
