Around 10am on July 21st, music critic Nakamura Touyou (79) was discovered outside his home in Tachikawa, Tokyo by a pedestrian. The Tachikawa Police Department state that Nakamura committed suicide by jumping from his home on the 8th floor. According to the police, Nakamura lived alone and left a suicide note in the room. Nakamura suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead before making it to the hospital.

Nakamura was born in Kyoto. He was formerly a banker before becoming a music critic. In 1969 he launched the first issue of the music magazine �New Music Magazine�, currently called �Music Magazine�, and was the editor-in-chief until 1989. Starting in 2008 he became an associate researcher at the Musashino Art University.
