RIP SLYME to sing the theme song for Matsuyama Kenichi & Eita's new movie

allkpop

RIP SLYME, a five-member hip hop group, will be using their new song, RIDE ON for Matsuyama Kenichi and Eita's new film, Bokutachi Kyuko A-Ressha de Ikou. Speaking about their upcoming song, the members stated, Our new song was influenced by friendship between men and journey as its foundations. We hope that the sense of peace and fun [from this song] will reach our listeners.

RIP SLYME got the offer to sing the movie's theme song after director Morita Yoshimitsu mused, The film centralizes on the two male protagonists' friendship. I believe that RIP SLYMEs songs are a perfect fit for the movie, as they can showcase that strong friendship those two carry.

Director Morita also commented, This song is great! It really expresses the feelings of the two characters with the elements of warmth and adventure. Actor Matsuyama himself approved, I think the song is a masterpiece that exceeds 'Take The A Train. Everyone, lets ride the train while listening to this song.

Bokutachi Kyuko A-Ressha de Ikou is an original film by Morita Yoshimitsu, which took about a decade to create. The story focuses on two men: a laid-back man who works at a large corporation, and a man who's set to inherit an iron factory in the lower part of town. This comedy focuses on the friendship between the two, utilizing their mutual love for railroads as they struggle with their love life and work life.

Intriguingly enough, this is the second time RIP SLYME sang a theme song for Moritas work. Last time, they contributed "Hey Brother" for Morita's 2005 film, Mamiya Kyodai".

Bokutachi Kyuko A-Ressha de Ikou will hit theaters nationwide on March 2012. Meanwhile, a release for RIP SLYME's "RIDE ON" has yet to be revealed.
