YG Entertainment and avex Entertainment team up to establish new label, 'YGEX'

On July 21st, a press conference was held for the establishment of YG FAMILY's exclusive new label, YGEX, a joint label between YG Entertainment and avex Entertainment.

BIGBANG will be transferring from�Universal Japan to YGEX. Group�leader G-DRAGON expressed, "It is encouraging for the family to be able to work together." D-LITE was absent from the event due to an accident, but V.I. stated, "Please look forward to our activities with all five of us"

The name YGEX was created from YG Entertainment's "YG" and avex Entertainment's "ex", which also has the meaning of "EXPERIENCE" and "EXCLUSIVE".�This brand new label was formed as an unique label to experience YG FAMILY. They have also announced a project to debut a new artist in Japan and Korea at the same time.

YG Entertainment president Yang Hyun Suk commented, "To take this leap with avex during the 15th year anniversary of YG is a positive promotion. We will take a step forward." Meanwhile, avex entertainment's president and representative director CEO Matsuura Masato stated, "We are called K-POP and J-POP, but we want to establish YGEX's original sounds."

Gummy and PSY have also signed with YGEX. Gummy will be releasing a mini-album in October, and SE7EN is scheduled to release a mini-album sometime after fall. Additionally, 2NE1 will be holding their first tour in Japan, starting on September 19th at Yokohama Arena.
