It's been reported that the popular drama, "101 Kaime no Propose", will be getting a 'Jidaigeki' stage play adaptation! It will star the drama's original actors�Takeda Tetsuya and Asano Atsuko in a historical setting.
"101 Kaime no Propose" aired in 1991 as a "Getsu9" drama, leaving a record high rating of 36.7% in its final episode. Takeda played the role of a sub-manager of a construction company, and Asano played the role of a cellist who lost her fiance in an accident.
Renamed to "Jidaigeki Ban '101 Kaime no Propose'", the stage play will take place during the Edo Period, portraying�a sincere love story of a lower class samurai (Takeda) and the heroine (Asano).
In the drama, Takeda's quote, "I won't die~", became a popular phrase back in the day. The stage play plans to arrange famous sayings and scenes to revive the famous drama.
Other cast member include Enami Kyoko, Yamazaki Ginnojou, and Kitagawa Hiroshi. Additionally, Nojima Jinji's original script will be re-written by Suzuki Tetsuya and Makino Nozomi.
"Jidaigeki Ban '101 Kaime no Propose'" is set to be part one of a two-part stage play. Part two will be titled "Kaientai Talk & Live", and more information will be announced at a later date.
Takeda and Asano are scheduled to hit the stage�starting March 2012 at�Hakata-za.
