Rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN will be releasing their new single, "Zero", on October 5th. Additionally, the band will be starting their nationwide tour, "BUMP OF CHICKEN 2011-12 TOUR 'GOOD GLIDER TOUR'", in December.

As we previously reported, "Zero" will serve as the theme song to the upcoming Playstation Portable (PSP) game, "Final Fantasy Rei Shiki". The band commented, "The theme songs were first introduced in 'FINAL FANTASY VIII', when we were in our teens. We were already in a band and often joked, 'What if this song was ours?' We honestly can't believe that a day like this would actually come."

The single will come in two versions: a limited edition (CD + DVD) and a regular edition (CD only). In the limited edition, the band has collaborated with 'Rei Shiki', with a cover design by Amano Yoshitaka, and a special recording of "Zero 'Final Fantasy Rei Shiki' Opening ver.". The DVD will also feature two video clips produced by Square Enix.

Additionally, both editions of the single will come with a band version of "Smile" as the coupling song.



"BUMP OF CHICKEN 2011-12 TOUR 'GOOD GLIDER TOUR'" will be their first large-scale tour since "Homeship Eisei", which was held nearly three and a half years ago. The tour will kick off at SHIBUYA-AX on December 5th, and will wrap up at Zepp Tokyo on January 31st, with a total of 15 stops and 19 performances.

First press editions of "Zero" will contain an pre-order entry ticket for the tour.
