On August 25th, singer/actor Fukuyama Masaharu made a live appearance on FM Okinawa's radio show, "Golden Hour". It's been 10 years since Fukuyama last guested on a live radio program, and it was his very first appearance in front of the Okinawan media.

"Since it's my first Okinawa live, I want to sing along and enjoy it with the fans," Fukuyama said.

Announcing his appearance on the show just two days before Fukuyama's arrival, FM Okinawa revealed that they had special tickets to distribute that would allow fans to watch him on the show. The announcement for the tickets caused a frenzy, and all 70 phones at the radio station rang nonstop, forcing the program to close the application period within 30 minutes.

Out of 10,000 applicants, a lucky 500 acquired tickets to see Fukuyama up close in front of the radio booth.

During his session, Fukuyama shared his never-before-heard stories about the creation of his upcoming double A-side single, "Kazoku ni Narou yo/fighting pose". Charmingly, he told his fans, "People of Okinawa, your smiles are wonderful."

At the end of the program, Fukuyama called out, "Thank you for waiting. It's been 20 years since my debut, and I am now able to hold an Okinawa live. There's a typhoon coming, but let's make sure there won't be any accidents." He then wrapped up the show with, "It's usually for my fans, but this time, I want to enjoy it also. But please make a counter plan for the rain. Let's enjoy the midsummer night's dream!"

Before appearing on radio, Fukuyama held a press conference for the media, and talked about continuing his fundraising for the Tohoku Earthquake by preparing a booth of products from Tohoku at the concert.

Fukuyama Masaharu will be holding his first Okinawa live on the 27th and 28th at Nishihara Marine Park.
