On August 28th, popular duo Kobukuro announced that they will go on hiatus due to the poor health of member Kobuchi Kentaro (34), who was diagnosed with dystonia last year.
Dystonia is a condition where the muscles contract involuntarily, and so because of this, Kobuchi had difficulties singing as he could not control his vocals. Reportedly, Kobuchi will need at least half a year to treat the symptoms of this condition.
Concluding their final concert in Hokkaido, Kobukuro stated, Although at first we were worried about taking this hiatus, but we would like to rest a bit, as given from our fans and God. Please wait patiently for a small amount of time, and ended their final concert in Hokkaido.
