On August 26th, actor Matsuyama Kenichi attended a fan gathering of 300 in the disaster-stricken area of Oshu, Iwate Prefecture. The gathering held to celebrate the filming of his 2012 NHK Taiga drama, Taira no Kiyomori.
Matsuyama, who just started filming for this drama on the 19th, showed up wearing his samurai costume for the first time in public. Speaking about his character, he stated, Kiyomori has the strength to laugh away the hardest of trials -- most importantly, he enjoys living. I would like to convey that properly [through my acting].
His co-stars Fukuda Kyoko and Abe Sadawo also made their appearance at the event and spoke of using cornstarch to make it look like dust during the filming, causing the audience to laugh over the quirky fact.
One attendee commented, The discussions were interesting, so I received a lot of strength from this, showing his satisfaction after the event.
