Interviewer: The latest song, "Pareo wa Emerald" is a perfect song for the peak of summer.

Suda: When I heard this song for the first time, it had a peaceful intro, so I thought it would continue with a calm melody. But in an instant, it changed into a cheerful and upbeat song, and my excitement grew. I became energized just by listening to it, and I liked the song!

Kizaki: The song suits the beach!

Suda: Summer time is for the beach!

Interviewer: When you go to the beach, do you swim?

Kizaki: I'm the kind of person who would rather enjoy the atmosphere of the beach, than swimming. Because, I'm afraid of sharks... I'm so nervous that I will get attacked by a shark, that I can't even get excited about swimming.

Matsui Jurina: Sharks!? Not jellyfish?

Kizaki: When I went to the beach overseas, there was jellyfish! Since then, its been a trauma.

Matsui: In Japan, you'll be fine as long as you don't go too far!

Interviewer: By the way, how do you feel about rides that make you scream?

Matsui: I strongly dislike them! I also hate haunted houses. I went in once, and I was so scared that I started hyperventilating.

Matsui Rena: I love them!!

Suda: I dislike rides that fall. But, to challenge yourself is important! If you think it's scary, you'll get scared. If you think it's fun, it will become fun in an instant! So I'll do my best!

Matsui: Everyone in SKE48 are fearless... except me. But once I decide to do something, I will overcome anything, no matter how difficult it is!

Interviewer: Everyone is persistent.

Matsui: In the music video, there's scene where we had to jump off of a cliff into the ocean. Rena-chan was so excited for it before the shoot.

Matsui: It was more fun than I imagined! This time, there was a lot of words in the lyrics that expressed the ocean, so we shot the music video in Hawaii.

Suda: When we shot the dance scene on the sand, it rained the whole time. Honestly, we thought it was impossible so we quit halfway. Then, the sky cleared up all of a sudden, or rather, the sun was blinding.

Kizaki: On top of that, there were two rainbows!

Suda: It was a really beautiful arc.

Matsui: I was so impressed that I took a picture.

Interviewer: By any chance, is there a powerful 'ame-onna' (a woman whose presence seems to cause rain) among the members?

Matsui: In the past, I was called 'ame-onna'. Everyone mistakes me as 'ame-onna', but now, I think it's Rena-chan. Even during the shoot for jacket covers, it was clear the entire time until Rena-chan appeared, it started raining instantly.

Suda: The word ame-onna doesn't sound too good, it should be 'mizu no megami-sama' (the goddess of water)!

Matsui: Alright, from now on, I will be 'mizu no megami-sama'!

Suda: Once, during an outside event, I made a 'teru teru bozu' (paper doll as a charm for good weather) so it wouldn't rain, and walked around with it in my purse. And yet, it rained... I thought 'why?', and realized the 'teru teru bozu' was crumpled.

Matsui: Then again, don't you hang 'teru teru bozu'?

Suda: Eh? Really?

Kizaki: You didn't know?

Suda: All this time, I was using it the wrong way. I always carried it around.

Interviewer: The conversation drifted quite a bit from the song.

Suda: I know. And, the other theme for this song is summer love!

Kizaki: Boys fall in love with girls like this.

Matsui: But unfortunately, he doesn't realize that he likes her yet. It's a step before unrequited love.

Interviewer: What do you do when you like someone?

Matsui: I immediately tell everyone around me. It's not like I'm trying to show off, but my feelings show through my facial expressions.

Suda: I tell him my feelings honestly.

Kizaki: I wonder how I am~. But, I'm able to tell the members my feelings straightforward, so I think I will be able to do the same to the person I like.

Matsui: I'm the other way around. I can't tell the members my feelings until I sort them out, so I don't think I will be able to tell him.

Matsui: Even though Rena-chan doesn't put her feelings into words, she's not unsociable. She communicates with everyone, so her feelings are somehow passed along to us.

Interviewer: You are able to understand each other.

Matsui: Yes. The song is about a boy who always saw a girl as a little sister. He sees her growth, and falls in love with her instantly. It conveys very pure and honest feelings, and every time I sing it, my heart skips a beat.

Kizaki: This summer, I want to everyone's hearts to skip a beat together. The coupling songs, "Tokimeki no Ashiato" and "Hanabi wa Owaranai" are also summer songs. We will be delighted if everyone makes a lot of summer memories through this single!
