Based on author Oshima Masumi's novel, "Bitter Sweet", the drama portrays a story of three women whose friendship gets shattered after an incident, causing them to view each other with anger and envy.

Expressing her expectations for the drama, Ryo said, "I want men to know about women's true feelings that would normally make them want to cover their ears, and I want women to feel refreshed watching this drama." She continued, "As I'm from the same generation, it's been fun living 'til the age of 40! Through this drama, I want to present a message that it is something to be proud of."

According to Ryo, she tends to share work-related stories at a girls-only party, and she expressed her sympathy for the characters saying, "The 'around 40' generation is very serious. Instead of receiving happiness, we try to get grasp onto happiness ourselves. For this reason, we are desperate with our work and love... I think that's cool."

Producer Goto Takahisa revealed, "An actress who is just beautiful and kind won't be able to follow through til the end. Ryo-san, who has a heart, will be able to portray the honest life of the 39-year old Ichiko."

"Bitter Sweet" will start from 10:55 PM on Tuesday nights with total 10 episodes.
