Oricon recently interviewed AKB48 sub-unit Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 on their latest single, "Hetappi Wink", which was released on August 3rd.

Check out the full interview below!

Interviewer: "Hettapi Wink" is a cheerful, summer song right?

[caption id="attachment_179979" align="alignleft" width="203" caption="Hirajima Natsumi (Nacchan)"][/caption]

Iwasa Misaki: Yes. It's an up-tempo and cute song.

Komori Mika: I like it because the expression "hetappi" is cute! I also like the part in the melody where everyone dances and sings, "Wink! Wink! Wink!".

Hirajima Natsumi: After that, the part "Love is a wink" is also cute. The seven of us do the 'penguin dance' together.

Komori: I want everyone to dance it with us.

Interviewer: How was the recording and PV shoot?

Hirajima: Come to think of it, before the PV shoot, I had the chance to speak with Akimoto-san. He told me, "Look forward to the PV because it's going to be really cute." I was really happy because the costume and PV was really cute! I don't know if we're the ones who should say this, but I think the PV turned out really cute. Although during the recording, I was embarrassed to sing "Love is a wink" by myself, and laughed!

Komori: The part was flawless for me. But it was hard for me to produce a high note. My voice wouldn't come out at all during "Toumawari shite~", and when I tried to use a high voice, it screeched. But as I continued, I matured a lot and was able to produce a high note.

Nakagawa Haruka: That's amazing.

Komori: I was so happy that I displayed my high voice in many places. *laugh*

[caption id="attachment_179983" align="alignright" width="195" caption="Nakagawa Haruka (Harugon)"][/caption]

Nakagawa: It seems I was the fastest to complete recording. That day, I was in such a good condition that I was able to sing well in one try! But the parts I wasn't satisfied with, I asked to try it again, and recorded it one more time.

Hirajima: What part did you record again?

Nakagawa: A-melo... although I didn't sing that part!

Everyone: *bursts into laughter*

Hirajima: It's true. I can't say, "Would you go out with me?"

Watanabe Mayu: Yes yes. It's a bittersweet and youthful love story...

Interviewer: Do you understand this feeling?

Oota Aika & Kikuchi Ayaka: I understand!

Watanabe: My heart tightens!

Iwasa: I'm not an assertive person, so I understand also.

Komori: I'm 'sai'...

Everyone: What do you mean 'sai'?

Komori: I use the word 'sai' for 'shy'.

Hirajima: Why don't you use shy! *laugh*

[caption id="attachment_179985" align="alignleft" width="191" caption="Watanabe Mayu (Mayuyu)"][/caption]

Interviewer: The question was 'Do you understand those feelings?'

Komori: I don't.

Nakagawa: *laugh* I don't either!

Hirajima: It's the feeling where you don't want to break the relationship you have now. If you're going to be rejected, it's better this way... But it's not common to wink. Even if I was winked at, I wouldn't know how to react.

Nakagawa: It might be likely in American high schools.

Interviewer: If you can't wink, what would you do to casually approach the person?

Kikuchi: I will be determined to talk to him at any rate!

Interviewer: That's not casual... *laugh*

Watanabe: I will casually look into his eyes.

Oota: I want to walk home with him after school. So I will leave the classroom late, to adjust to the person I like. And we'll coincidentally be together.

Iwasa: First, I will have a friend tell him, "I hear Iwasa likes you!" and make him notice me. Then he should be conscious of me too!

Hirajima: Ah, I did that to a friend once. I assisted by saying, "It seems he likes you," and became a cupid!

Nakagawa: That happened a lot during middle school. What I want to try is, during the period you change classes, I want to sit in the seat of the person I like, and write "I like you" on a note. I'll write my name too. Then he'll look at the note, wouldn't he be surprised?

Everyone: He'll be surprised. *laugh*

Hirajima: During my turn for cleaning, I carried the desk of the person I like.

[caption id="attachment_179982" align="alignright" width="198" caption="Komori Mika (Komorin)"][/caption]

Komori: You remember things well! I drop my handkerchief in front of the person I like.

Everyone: Here it is!

Komori: Then I have him pick it up, and be like, "Ah, thank you!"

Nakagawa: You watch too much anime.

Komori: Also, I want to be a love cupid!

Nakagawa: Like Nacchan? I don't think you can do it! *everyone laughs*

Hirajima: I would never want to ask Komori. *laugh*

Komori: But I've startled someone before.

Hirajima: That's not cupid! *laugh*

Interviewer: *laugh* Well then, fill in the words for "Love is a __". In other words, what is love to you?

Watanabe: "Love is a mofumofu." I love alpacas!

Iwasa: "Love is a manga and anime!" I want to compare the number of manga I have to how much Nacchan has. Anime will be my interest for all my life.

Oota: Me too, its "Love is an anime."I can say it's a part of my body. That's how important it is.

Hirajima: And for me, "Love is going back to sleep." *laugh* Even during the summer, I sleep holding a blanket. I like the soft feeling.

[caption id="attachment_179981" align="alignleft" width="203" caption="Kikuchi Ayaka (Ayarin)"]Kikuchi Ayaka (Ayarin)[/caption]

Komori: Yes! I know! "Love is a cat." I have a cat named 'Hime' at home, and when she's around, I feel soothed and energized.

Hirajima: That's nice.

Nakagawa: "Love is to eat."

Interviewer: By the way, there are fruits and many other foods placed in front of Harugon.

Nakagawa: I'm the most happy when I'm eating.

Interviewer: And this time, there's many coupling songs included with the single.

Nakagawa: Yes. "Fuku wo Kita Oosama" is definitely a song that will liven up concerts.

Hirajima: The part where we say "Ganba!" is good. It's something that would be in a Showa manga, like "00-kun, ganba!"

Nakagawa: Let's say it all the way to "re". *laugh*

Komori: For me, "Chikatetsu no Teddy boy" was easy to sing.

Oota: I like "Bikini wa Niawanai". The pace of the song is good, and I also like the lyrics.

Kikuchi: I like it too. I like the rhythm, and I think it's perfect for the summer.

Iwasa: In this single, doesn't that song feel like it's the most suitable for summer? How the song is honest is very summer-like. It's a song I want to set adrift in the ocean.

Nakagawa: The lyrics really applies to us. Except for Nacchan.

[caption id="attachment_179984" align="alignright" width="188" caption="Oota Aika (Labutan)"][/caption]

Interviewer: Huh? In what way?

Hirajima: You mean the part, "I don't have a nice body".

Nakagawa: Right. Also the title, "Bikini wa Niawanai". That is definitely us. *laugh*

Komori: Nacchan looks good in a bikini.

Hirajima: You won't get anything by praising me.

Interviewer: Mayuyu sings "Mirai no Koibito" right?

Watanabe: Yes. But it's like a royal idol song that Matsuda Seiko-san would sing. It's cute; I like it!

Interviewer: Lastly, please let us know what you do to overcome the hot summer!

Watanabe: I spend it in a tank top!

Oota: It feels good when you put water from a cold bottle under your arms and neck.

Komori: Ice cream! When I eat ice cream, I'm 100 times energized!

Nakagawa: I try by best not to turn on the air conditioner.

Kikuchi: I drink a lot of water!

[caption id="attachment_179980" align="alignleft" width="201" caption="Iwasa Misaki (Wasamin)"][/caption]

Iwasa: At home, I use hie-pita!

Hirajima: I take cold showers!

Nakagawa: "Hetappi Wink" is a mid-summer release, and we have lives to cheer up everyone!

Hirajima: I want to overcome the summer heat with everyone!
