On September 29th, popular idol group AKB48 opened their official Akihabara shop �AKB48 CAF� & SHOP AKIHABARA� in Tokyo. Members Shinoda Mariko (25) and Takahashi Minami (20) appeared at the grand opening press conference along with the other members.

Takahashi charmed the audience immediately when she bluntly said, �Please start the AKB conference as I wish to speak with fans.�� Watanabe Mayu (17) raised expectations on the types of menu items available in their cafe, particularly the takeout-only pie daifuku. �It is an original type of sweet, Akihabara�s newest specialty productl,� she said.

Itano Tomomi (20), meanwhile, gave fans a pleasant shock when she revealed that there was a concealed item in the store. She hinted, �Because my fellow members scribbled on things throughout the store, I want to find the sign that says �Oshimen.��

Since the cafe is close to the AKB stage and boasts a limited-time-only menu planned by the members, Shinoda advertised a free service, saying, �Perhaps the person who put the item on the menu will cook it for you.�
