Former Melon Kinenbi member Shibata Ayumi to finally make her solo debut!

After announcing earlier this year that she'd be making a solo debut with a new single, former Melon Kinenbi member Shibata Ayumi has finally revealed the details on her first solo release!

The single is titled "believe", and will be released on November 12th. "believe" marks a new beginning for Shibata, who's been receiving vocal training and is finally completing her transformation from an idol to an artist. The work is said to be full of her charms as a woman on her own, and shows how she's learned to become more expressive with her voice. Additionally, Shibata herself wrote the lyrics to the song in order to fully express herself as an artist.

A special digital single titled "GENKI" will be released prior to the single on September 21st. "GENKI" is described as having a strong rock flavor, giving a feisty punch from Shibata's vocals and making those who listen to the song "genki" (energetic) as well. All proceeds earned from downloading the single will be donated to victims of the Tohoku disaster.
