It's been revealed that AKB48's Maeda Atsuko has been chosen as the image character for casual apparel brand, "g.u.", and will be appearing in their new CM.

This will be Maeda's first solo CM since she turned 20 back on July 10th, and this will also mark her first time appearing in a fashion CM. She will show off her adult charm in three different outfits.

Maeda expressed her joy by saying, "I love fashion, so I am happy to be able to star in a CM for a fashion brand... Up until now I wore many cute clothes, but this time, I sought out the coolness of being a 20-year old. So I think the CM turned out to be cool."

Titled "Jiyuu na Watashi e", this will be the first of the brand's autumn/winter TV CM. Maeda stands in a space surrounded by white balloons, and strikes a pose while staring into the camera with a cool expression. Then she disappears from the screen for a moment, and reappears in a different outfit. After striking another pose, Maeda changes her outfit again, and comes back to the screen. Towards the end, she continues to smile while the 667 balloons pop, making a bursting sound. This scene was actually done quickly as Maeda received an 'OK' in the first take. While the staff celebrated the completion of the CM, Maeda showed an relieved expression and revealed, "I was startled on the inside."
