Actors Motoki Masahiro, Matsu Takako, and Maki Yoko will be starring in the upcoming TBS drama series, "Unmei no Hito", scheduled to air in January 2012.

The story is based on a novel written by author Yamasaki Toyoko, who's known for her best-sellers, "Shiroi Kyoto" and "Shizumanu Taiyou". "Unmei no Hito" follows a case involving a secret pact about the Okinawa reversion that took place 40 years ago.Motoki will play an arrogant reporter who manages to get scoop after scoop, and exposes the deceit of the state that lurks behind the Okinawa reversion. His wife will be played by Matsu Takako, and Maki Yoko will play the role of a secretary in the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Regarding the original work, Motoki commented, "It was written very realistically, and it approaches the readers in an almost oppressive manner. It's a story that leaves an impression in your heart. I want to play the role to answer Yamasaki-san, who wishes to share war memories, and the pain that Okinawa carries from its problems with the base. The work is not carefree, but there is a significance. The mysterious attraction of every human being... To me, this story will be very challenging, but I will make efforts for it to be 'a work of fate' to the viewers."

Meanwhile, he shared his feelings on working with Matsu and Maki, saying, "I want to be hit withMatsu-san's nobility and Maki-san's charm, and fully enjoy it for several months."

Matsu expressed, "Right now, I'm excited, and I'm filled with ambition. I hope to play the role of a woman who does her best protecting her family while carrying her own troubles." Maki also shared, "I was surprised after finding out that there was big incident like this in the 1970's. There is a lot of pressure, but I hope to play the role to be 'a person of fate' that everyone can sympathize with."

The filming will start some time this month, and is expected to last five months. It will broadcast on TBS every Sunday nights at 9:00 PM starting January 2012.
