Singer-songwriter Yaida Hitomi's 20th single, "Machigai Darake no Diary", has been chosen as the theme song for the upcoming drama, "Bitter Sugar", which stars actress Ryo. This will be Yaida's first time in four years to be in charge of a theme song for a drama.
Yaida wrote "Machigai Darake no Diary" with a 'positive outlook', and it's said to be a tune that will push the backs of the 'around-40' generation, giving them energy the more they listen to it.
Ryo expressed her thoughts on the song, saying, "No matter how old I get, I need courage to step into something new. However, I need to trust my intuition more, and think after I take that step. It's a wonderful song that will support me in those kind of situations."
Yaida herself commented, "I aimed for sounds and lyrics that makes you think, 'Okay! I'll do my best today!', even though there are many things going on in your life. I will be satisfied if people get into the mood by clapping their hands and singing along to it."
"Machigai Darake no Diary" is set for release on November 30th, and "Bitter Sugar" will air starting October 18th.
